Our Team

Spring Oaks Counseling

Spring Oaks Counseling was established in 2020 by Nidia Valadez, following her three-year experience in a group practice. Recognizing the need for bilingual therapists to empower Latina/Hispanic women and children, Nidia set out to make a greater impact by starting her own private practice. In a short span of just over two years, Spring Oaks Counseling has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from a single therapist (Nidia) to a team of 8 providers, with four of them being bilingual Spanish-speaking therapists.

We take immense pride in serving the greater San Antonio area, as well as providing virtual services throughout Texas. Our commitment to meeting the needs of our diverse community remains unwavering.

Spring Oaks Counseling stands out by offering a unique approach to patient care. We prioritize the well-being and peace of mind of our clients through our comprehensive screening process. Our assessments cover various crucial areas, such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD and the challenges related to hardship immigration. By evaluating the impact on both the individual and their family, we provide accurate diagnoses and tailored treatment plans.

To ensure accessibility, we offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, accommodating our patients' needs and preferences. Our goal is to create a collaborative and empowering therapy experience, where individuals actively participate in their healing journey. At Spring Oaks Counseling, our compassionate therapists provide a safe and supportive environment, encouraging personal growth and self-discovery. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional care and helping individuals improve their mental health and overall well-being.

Fully Licensed Therapist

A fully licensed therapist is a professional who has successfully completed all the requirements set forth by their respective licensing board or regulatory body to practice therapy independently. This often involves completing a master's or doctoral degree in a mental health field (such as psychology, counseling, or social work), accruing a specified number of supervised clinical hours, and passing a licensing exam. Fully licensed therapists have met rigorous standards of education, training, and experience, allowing them to provide therapy services to clients without the need for direct supervision.

Our licensed therapists have the capability to process insurance billing. Feel free to visit our insurance section or contact us to determine whether your therapist accepts your insurance. It's important to note that certain insurance providers may not include coverage for marriage counseling. As a result, all sessions for couples are exclusively available on a private pay basis.
